Lower Macungie Township continues to monitor the constantly evolving COVID-19 and will update information on changes to township functions. We thank everyone for your patience. Stay safe!

Township Building
The Township offices are open M - F from 8am to 4:30pm. The permit office hours are 8am - 4pm. We will continue to practice social distancing and require that masks be worn at all of our public buildings for the safety of our employees and of our residents.
Community Center
Lower Macungie Community Center will be open to the general public while following CDC guidelines for the safety of our employees and of our residents. Social distancing measures are in place and it is necessary that visitors wear facemasks inside our building. The safety of our employees and visitors are important to us. Staff will be unable to assist those visitors not wearing masks.
We will be open Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 4:30pm. No public restrooms available. We will offer facility rentals, gym rentals and Tuesday morning “Walk & Talk” for adults from 8:00am – 10:00am.
We encourage all to call 610-966-6924 Monday – Friday between 8:00am – 4:30pm for facility rentals and recreation questions. We can also be reached by email at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). To view community rooms for rentals, please call to make an appointment.
No free open gym (all basketball, volleyball and Saturday family sessions) at this time.

Permits (Residential and Commercial)
At this time, we are accepting permit applications in the drop off bin located outside the permit office, by mail or email. Please see the Permits page for further information. Contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) for any questions.
Road Opening Permits will only be accepted by email to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
Planning Documents
The Planning Department will continue to accept regular submissions, as required by law; however, a waiver of project extension until October 1st, 2020 is firmly requested. All other future Planning Commission meetings shall remain regularly scheduled, any cancellations will be posted on the township website.

Real Estate Tax Office
The Tax Office is open with regular business hours: Tuesday - Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm. We are located at 3410 Brookside Road. Our office will continue to practice social distancing and require that masks be worn for the safety of our employees and of our residents.

Earned Income Tax
Berkheimer has determined that it would be in the best interest to extend the local filing due date to May 17, 2021, matching the State Federal requirement. For complete details, forms and e-file, please visit Berkheimer's website.
Utility Payments (Trash & Sewer)
Multiple options for making a payment:
- We are open, in person payments with cash are accepted (No change given), check or credit card (American Express is not accepted).
- By mail: Lower Macungie Township, 3400 Brookside Road, Macungie, PA. NO CASH PLEASE.
- Drop Box: You may leave your payment in the drop box by the front door of the Township Offices at any time. NO CASH PLEASE.
- Online: The Easiest Way to Pay Your Utility Bill! Our online bill payment option saves you time and gives you more flexibility in how you pay your utility bill. If you have an internet connection and an e-mail address, you can now pay your utility bill online. It’s fast, it’s easy, and you no longer have to write a check each quarter or find a stamp when it’s time to send in your payment. See our Utility Billing web page on how it works and to sign up.
- Phone: Call the Township at 610-966-4343 and we can apply a payment from your checking account, credit card or debit card (American Express not accepted).
Parks & Playgrounds
All parks are now open, please follow CDC distancing guidelines.
Walking trails are all open.
The pump park is open.
Public restrooms at the parks are now open.
Portable toilets have been place by the Township at some locations. Others have been placed by outside organizations using the sports fields and not by the township. Please refrain from using these facilities since the township does not pay for nor sanitize these facilities.
A limited number of trash cans will placed in the larger parks in strategic locations. We ask that all residents follow our carry in-carry out policy to help reduce the amount of waste that our limited staff has to collect. This also includes dog waste bags.
Park equipment is not being sanitized so please exercise caution. Parents and/or individuals must look after themselves and follow social distancing guidelines when using these facilities.
Trash & Recycle Collection
Regular Trash and Recycling: Collection will continue as scheduled.

We are contracted to request one (1) bulk item per week. Bulk item examples would be love seat, flattened-bundled cardboard, armchair, mattress & boxspring set, etc. Please complete the form below.
