LOWER MACUNGIE TOWNSHIP SEEKING TOWNSHIP MANAGER

Lower Macungie, which became a First Class township in January of 2008, has a population of 31,000 and covers 23.6 square miles in western Lehigh County. The community is seeking its second Manager since a Commission-Manager ordinance was adopted in 2007. Lower Macungie is the fastest growing municipality in Pennsylvania. The manager will supervise 35 employees and be responsible to the 5 member Board of Commissioners for: a $ 7. Million annual budget, road construction and maintenance, planning and zoning and code enforcement, water supply and sewage collection, fire safety, parks and recreation and the financial management of the government. The township utilizes the services of the Pa. State Police for police protection. The successful candidate will have demonstrable skill and competence in the following ICMA Practices for Effective Local Government Management: 1}- Functional/ operational expertise encompassing budgeting and financial analysis; 2}- Staff effectiveness including knowledge of human resource management; 3}- policy facilitation; 4}- democratic advocacy and citizen participation; and 5}- integrity. To be considered candidates must have a Master's degree in public administration or an equivalent field of study and 5 years of experience in local government management OR a Bachelor's degree in a similar field of study and 7 years such experience. Candidates need not be residents of the township but the appointed manager must, within one year of appointment, establish residence within a reasonable distance of the Township {to be determined by the Board}.

Swim Lesson Signups -Sign up with the LifeguardsTie, Pool Members $30.00, Non-Pool Members $40.00. All lessons are held Tuesday through Friday for a 2-Week Period. There are NO LESSONS ON MONDAYS.
