Road Closures
- Church Lane Bridge - The Board of Commissioners, at their April 5, 2012 meeting, approve the temporary closure of the Church Lane Bridge until the Spring Creek Road bridge project is complete. It is anticipated to be opened late November, early December, 2012. The bridge is scheduled to close on April 12th.
We understand the inconvenience which has resulted from the closure of the Church Lane bridge. However, it is important to recognize that this decision was not taken lightly. The Township consulted with the Engineers from the stand point of the increased volume of vehicular traffic utilizing the bridge due to the temporary closure of the Spring Creek Road bridge. The Church Lane structure is a rather old wooden bridge and the repetitive loading due to increased vehicular traffic will shorten the life of the bridge. Therefore, in the interest of protecting Township infrastructure and saving tax dollars, the decision was made to close the bridge until such time as the Spring Creek Road bridge is re-opened.
Resurfacing Projects
The list below is of Township roads that are tentatively scheduled for surfacing projects in 2011. Homeowners will be notified in advance of the start date of these projects. Please check back to this page frequently for an updated list.
During resurfacing, there will be no street parking. Please do not drive on fresh wet material. If you must drive on the new surface, please use caution and avoid sudden stops or turns. Short delays will occur when paving by driveways. If needed, the Township will request that trash be collected earlier than normal, so please put your trash out the night before your usual collection day. Mail service will be uninterrupted and Meals on Wheels will be informed.
