2013 Trash Collection Holiday schedule
Memorial Day - Monday, May 27th - No holiday collection, Mon-Fri services will operate one day delay throughout the week.
Independence Day - Thursday, July 4th - No holiday collection, Fri services one day delay.
Labor Day - Monday, Sept. 2nd - No holiday collection, Mon-Fri services will operate one day delay throughout the week.
Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, Nov. 28th - No holiday collection, Thurs-Fri services will operate one day delay throughout the week.
Christmas Day - Wednesday, Dec. 25th - No holiday collection, Wed-Fri services will operate one day delay throughout the week.
New Year’s Day - Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014 - No holiday collection, Wed-Fri services will operate one day delay throughout the week.
IF A HOLIDAY IS NOT NOTED ABOVE, THERE ARE NO TRASH DELAYS. TRASH WILL BE COLLECTED ON YOUR NORMAL DAY.
CHRISTMAS TREE COLLECTION
Christmas tree collection will be the weeks of January 7, 2013 and January 14, 2013. Please put your tree out on your regular trash collection day during these two weeks. The waste hauler will collect Christmas trees with a regular garbage truck and then discard them at the Township’s Yard Waste Center to be recycled.
Do's
**Cut trees so they are more manageable and will fit in the truck. Trees larger than 6-7’ or weighing more than 50 lbs. should be cut in lengths not to exceed 5’.
**Remove all ornaments, lights and decorative items.
Don'ts
**Do not place wreaths or garland with your tree. These are not recyclable because of the wire binding. Discard wreaths and garland in your trash.
**Do not bind the tree with rope, string or with a bag.
CONTRACTED SERVICES
Lower Macungie Township has contracted the services of Waste Management (contractor) for the collection and processing of residential garbage (municipal waste) and recyclable material. These contracted services do not pertain to Manufactured Home Parks, Apartments/Condominiums or Commercial establishments.
