Community Day - May 2, 2023 4pm-8pm
Lower Macungie Community Center 3450 Brookside Rd. Macungie
This annual event each May promotes businesses and organizations located in Lower Macungie Township. We encourage residents to join us for many fun activities during this rain-or-shine event celebrating our community! Thank you to everyone who joined us this year! We hope you join us in 2024 - please check back for details.
We gratefully accept donations at the Lower Macungie Community Center to serve our community through the following programs:
Food Drive - April 3 - June 30, 2023
Lower Macungie Township has partnered with the Emmaus Rotary Club and the East Penn Food Coalition to hold a food drive supporting families in the East Penn School District. We will be collecting food donations in the lobby of the Lower Macungie Community Center. We welcome the donations of:
- 8 oz. cans of soup, pasta, vegetables and fruit
- 5 oz. cans of tuna or chicken
- 12-14 oz. boxes of cereal (non-sweetened)
- 14-16 oz. boxes of rice or pasta
- 16 oz. jars of peanut butter
- 32 oz. (quart) containers of shelf-stable milk
- 8 oz. juice boxes
- Please check expiration dates prior to donating items.
Cell Phones for Soldiers - Year-round collection
We accept cell phones of any make/model/age (with chargers) - cases are only accepted in the original package. The batteries may be left in the devices - please do not discard batteries in the trash. Please see a staff member at the Community Center front desk Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm. Evening and weekend hours vary. Please call for availability.
Our residents have kept 1,768 cell phones from being placed in landfills while providing cost-free communication and emergency funding for military members and veterans! We value our residents and their continuous contributions.
Pajamas Program - Annual (fall/winter)
We have provided Lehigh County Children & Youth Services 4,654 pairs of pajamas and 3,362 books as a result of our charitable donors since 2011. We appreciate the outpouring of community support.
Troop Support Program- Annual (fall/winter)
Over the past 17 years, thanks to the generosity of our residents, we have shipped a total of 1,660 boxes to 160 service members! Thank you.
